Paradise At An Affordable Price (Athens GA) – Creature Comforts Brewing will soon be returning a fruited treatment of Athena, the brewery’s year-round Berliner Weisse. Crafted with a generous complement of passion fruit and guava, Creature Comforts Athena Paradiso is a 4.5% ABV fruited Berliner Weisse with a subtle sweetness and gentle tartness.
Cherry Buried (Pacific City, OR) – Pelican Brewing has announced the latest addition to its fruit-forward 2018 Lone Pelican Small Batch Series. Brewed using 40 pounds of cherries per barrel, Pelican’s humorously named Cherried At Sea is a 7.9% ABV Belgian-style Dark Ale with a complex malt character of toffee, caramel, cocoa and dark chocolate and a dry warming finish.
Mod Baby! (Seattle, WA) – Fremont Brewing has announced a forthcoming seasonal that as they explain “serves as a crepuscular bridge to the holiday season barrel-aged brews,” whatever that means. Available through December or while the supply lasts, Fremont Mod Pod IPA is a 7% ABV naturally unfiltered India Pale Ale with a hazy straw color and tropical tones.
A Hazy Play (Portland, OR) – Breakside Brewery has just announced a new release that may be the first craft beer on the planet inspired by a Yeats poem. With its rich, soft body and huge juicy and tropical notes, Breakside What Rough Beast is a ‘poetic’ 6.8% ABV New England IPA that’s heavy on fan favorite hops like Citra and Mosaic.
Making Merry (St Louis, MD) – The largest locally owned craft brewer in St Louis, Schlafly Beer, has a new special release that was inspired by the sweet flavors of a French pastry. Available at peak holiday baking season and crafted as a refreshing alternative to dark winter warmers, Schlafly Merry Berry is a 6% ABV limited release with a nose reminiscent of “just out of the oven” pastry crust and fruit-forward sweetness.
