This weekend’s new releases are flush with timely seasonals and aged exotics…So welcome to our third Beer Run of October …And there’s plenty we like here.
Bonsai Brew (Cincinnati, OH) – This November MadTree and Short’s Brewing are launching something they call The Bonsai Project (Get it? Short trees…). Similar to a traditional black and tan, each brewery developed a recipe intended to be layered together resulting in the ultimate collaboration and gin and tonic experience.
MadTree is brewing and canning, OH, a gin-inspired specialty ale with lemon peel, juniper berry, hibiscus, and coriander with raspberry and peach added. And Short’s is brewing and canning, MI, a tonic-inspired specialty ale with lemon, lime, and orange zest, allspice, cinchona bark, lemongrass, and cubeb pepper with lemon, lime, and orange juice added. And when layered together (black and tan style) the hope is that beer drinkers will say, “oh my!” Clearly the puns never stop with this collaboration.
Summit Time (Poncha Springs CO) – With winter soon to come, Elevation Brewing is returning something warming for the season. Aged to perfection in Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels and peaked with deep dark fruits, vanilla, and bourbon aromatics, Elevation False Summit is a massive 11.5% ABV Quadrupel Ale with a milk chocolate head.
You Trippin Brutha (Cincinnati, OH) – Braxton Brewing has just announced the second release from its popular Trip Series. Slightly tart yet easy to drink, Braxton Wintertrip is a lightly fruited pineapple 4.2% ABV Berliner Weisse crafted to chase winter’s doldrums away.
Cryptic (Seattle, WA) – The crisp, cool weather of fall has finally arrived and Pyramid Brewing is greeting it with an aggressive IPA brewed using CRYO-Hops from Yakima Chief that are created from the concentrated lupulin of whole-leaf hops! Peaked with hop intensity, Pyramid Yeah Baby! is a 6.5% ABV CRYO- Hop India Pale Ale…and it’s out there now so you know what to do!
