Beer Journeys – Carlsberg And Brooklyn Brewery Collaborate In Hong Kong

, Beer Journeys – Carlsberg And Brooklyn Brewery Collaborate In Hong Kong

In yet another sign that craft beer has truly gone ‘international,’ Carlsberg’s Hong Kong division has announced a new collaboration beer that they’ve crafted with Brooklyn Brewery.

The collaboration, named HK Yau and uses the character yau “友” meaning friendship, and is actually a series of three different beers that Carlsberg brewed with Brooklyn Brewery’s Garrett Oliver.

HK Yau New Kong Wheat (we love that name) is a Belgian-style Wheat Ale, brewed with coriander and chénpí (dried orange and tangerine peel.

HK Yau Times Square Lager is a citrusy lager that supposedly pairs well with Asian cuisine (one would hope).

And HK Yau Underground is the always necessary Pale Ale.

Starting next month these collaborations, which marks the first time that Carlsberg HK has included locally brewed craft beer in their overall portfolio, will be available next month at seven Hong Kong locations with a target of expanding to over 60 outlets by the end of 2017.
