Iron Hill To Open Its First Ever Full-Scale Production Facility (Wilmington, DE) – Founded by home brewers Kevin Finn, Mark Edelson and restaurateur Kevin Davies in Newark, DE in 1996, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has blossomed from one restaurant and brewery to 16 locations up and down the East Coast, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and South Carolina. And now the company is planning its first-ever production facility.

Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse, which is projected to open its Exton, PA full-scale facility in 2020, will feature a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq. ft. brewery and a 4,500 sq. ft. taproom and restaurant.

In keeping with Iron Hill’s philosophy of offering fresh and innovative items directly from the tap to the table, the company’s newest concept will offer casual, elevated pub fare, with a continued focus on craft beer production and pairings. It will also function as an innovation kitchen for future companywide menu offerings.

Words To Drink By (Wilmington, DE) – ““We probably have too many breweries right now for the marketplace to support.” I wouldn’t call it a bubble, but it’s a mature market, and we’re starting to see a lot more people exit the industry these days.” Bell’s founder, Larry Bell to Michigan NPR

Hangovers Ruled An Illness By German Court (Frankfurt, Germany) – Good news for employees who want to call in sick after a night of serious drinking. A German court has ruled that hangovers are an “illness” in a case against the maker of an anti-hangover drink according to CNN.

The Frankfurt court made the decision in a case against an unnamed company that sold “anti-hangover” products. And ironically that ruling was made just as Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest was getting underway.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Boston, MA) – It’s Oktoberfest season and we’ve been enjoying the changing weather with an award-winning classic from Boston Beer. Authentic in its execution and true to tradition, Samuel Adams Oktoberfest is a deep amber colored 5.3% ABV Märzen-Style Lager with a caramel-rich mouthfeel that lingers.
