Beer Alert: Tempting Imperial Stouts And Amber Ales

Winter is ON. And American craft brewers are addressing the season with a full slate of new beer offerings you’re gonna want have around.

Temptation Times Three (Dallas, TX) – Lakewood Brewing is renowned for its popular “Seduction Series,” a bestselling line of Temptress Imperial Milk Stout variations that the brewery continues to expand upon. Near the end of 2021 Lakewood released a must-have collection of three takes on the milk stout as part of its Limited Temptress Seduction Six-Pack.

And here’s what’s included…

French Quarter Temptress is flavored with bourbon barrel-aged coffee from Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters and a touch of chicory.

Double Stuffed Temptress, being offered for the first time outside the family-owned North Texas brewery, is stuffed not once, but twice with milk’s favorite cookie.

Sin Mint Temptress has mint and a touch of graham cracker, like a liquid thin mint Girl Scout cookie only better and buzzier.

Double Fudge (San Diego, CA) – AleSmith Brewing is celebrating winter’s arrival with a new edition to its Speedway Stout Series. A delicately indulgent rendition of AleSmith’s signature original, AleSmith Speedway Stout Double Fudge Edition is a 12% ABV Imperial Stout with a decadent combination of Dominican cocoa nibs, cocoa powder, Madagascar vanilla beans, and artisan coffee from Ryan Bros.

“Our Double Fudge edition of Speedway Stout features the many layers of chocolate flavors,” says Anthony Chen, Head Brewer at AleSmith, “unadulterated and raw earthy characteristics of cacao nibs from the Dominican Republic as well as the refined and balanced attributes from Dutch cocoa powder.”

Double Trouble (Hershey, PA) – Just in time to fight the winter doldrums and post-holiday blues, Tröegs Independent Brewing is releasing an interesting spin on its iconic once-a-year Imperial Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar.

An uber-limited release built around one of Nugget Nectar’s key ingredients: Simcoe hops, Tröegs Double Nugget Nectar is a 9.5% ABV Imperial Amber Ale with complex notes of apricot, peach rings and juicy orchard fruit.
