Yikes, August is nearly over…And brewers are addressing the warm weather with a variety of intriguing new beer offerings that pair brilliantly with the late summer season.

Bohemia Bound (Alexandria, VA) – On August 23, Port City Brewing will be releasing the latest addition to its popular Lager Series. Brewed with pilsner malt, noble hops, and only available as a draft only offering in VA, DC, & MD, Port City German Pilsner is a 5% ABV Bohemian interpretation of the pilsner tradition, a little lighter in body and color and sporting a more lingering hop character.

Pillow Talk (Loveland, CO) – Big Thompson Brewery has a new limited release that that’s the perfect end to a hot summer’s day. Cool like the other side of the pillow, Big Thompson Brewery’s Kölsch Side of the Pillow is a 5.4% ABV German-style Kölsch which was fermented with ale yeast then finished in the lagering tank for a light body with soft mouth feel., Beer Alert – New Kosmic Sours, Farmhouse Saisons And Pilsners

Sam Adams Brings The Funk For The Fall (Boston, MA) – Boston Beer’s Samuel Adams brand is coming with something funky this fall that’s an offspring of its legendary Kosmic Mother Funk, an oak-aged Belgian-style creation that the brewery first debuted back in 2014. Light-bodied and crisp with subtle cereal notes, Samuel Adams Kosmic Sour is a 4.6% ABV Wild Ale with a slightly tart and mostly dry finish.

Megadeth Mega-Beer (Quebec, Canada) – Megadeth is following up their A Tout Le Monde, a hoppy 4.5% ABV Belgian-style ale that they did with Quebec’s Unibroue in 2016, with something considerably more aggressive from the same brewery. Saison 13 is Megadeth and Unibroue’s latest collaboration. It’s a 6.1% ABV Belgian Blonde Ale that’s abundantly dry hopped. And according to the Megadeth camp, Saison 13 is already available in select Canadian provinces and will be released in the US this September.
