The winter holidays are ON and American brewers are addressing things with an intriguing roster of beers that you’ll want to have on hand.

Bold & Buzz-Free (Chico, CA) – Many beer fans are choosing to forgo buzz for taste on occasion. But Sierra Nevada has a delicious option that suits both of those demands. Crafted using traditional brewing methods, not alcohol removal, to create full craft flavor below the 0.5% ABV non-alcoholic threshold, Sierra Nevada Trail Pass IPA is a buzz-free take on the nation’s most popular beer style, the Hazy India Pale Ale.

“It meets all of our criteria for what we would consider a craft IPA,” said James Conery, Innovation Brewmaster at Sierra Nevada, “not necessarily even a craft non-alcoholic IPA, but a craft IPA.”

Brewed with Amarillo and CTZ hop varieties that linger sweetly on the tongue, Sierra Nevada’s latest addition to its impressive roster of IPAs is currently available as part of its new Trail Pass Non-Alcoholic Variety Pack as well as in standalone 6-packs.

The Guinness OG (Dublin, IR) – We’re big fans of Guiness, so much so that during  a recent craft beer junket to Ireland, we would end every night the local pub with a Guinness Draught Stout in hand. But one Guinness beer in particular is the godfather of them all.

The purest expression of the Dublin-headquartered brewery’s legacy, a beer that was first brewed in 1821, Guinness Extra Stout is a bittersweet 5.6% ABV Irish Dry Stout with roasty hints of hops, dark fruits and caramel and an uber-dry finish.

Dark & Tasty (St Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer has a new addition to its winter offerings that was born in the brewery’s small batch taproom and is now exclusively available as part of the Hello Darkness Variety Pack, a collection of dark niche styles.

Originally brewed by Munich monks as “liquid bread” to sustain them during lengthy fasts, Schlafly Doppelbock is a 6% ABV European Strong Lager, an almost forgotten beer style here in the US that the brewery has artfully resurrected with a bit of a twist, for the season.

“We regularly have more offbeat styles on tap at our taprooms, so the Hello Darkness pack is an opportunity to bring the talents of our brewers and the taproom experience home,”  explains CEO David Schlafly. “With a market crowded with stouts and porters, we invite consumers to learn about different darker beer styles this winter.“
