July is ON and American craft brewers are addressing mid-summer with a full slate of new beers you’re gonna want to chase down.
Not Farking Around (Escondido, CA) – Every summer Stone Brewing returns as a superhero of an Imperial Stout. And the 2022 release comes with artwork from comic artist Jim Calafiore, who is known for his work on DC Comics’ Aquaman and Marvel Comics’ Exiles and Deadpool.
Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout is an 11.5% ABV bourbon-barrel-aged Imperial Stout that is brewed with pecans, wheat and flaked rye… It’s smooth and creamy and ideal for cellaring as its complex flavors will evolve over time. Traditionally released in bottles, 2022’s w00tstout isn’t “farking around.”

Automatic For The People (Athens GA) – Creature Comforts Beer has a year-round offering that’s pretty much an automatic for us. Aggressively hopped yet incredibly balanced, Creature Comforts Automatic is a bright, refreshing and approachable 5.5% ABV Pale Ale with a complex array of berry, citrus, herbal, and pine notes.
A Triumphant Year-Round (St Paul, MN) – After a successful debut in the 2020 Summit Block Party Box Summit Brewing has taken the 95 calorie IPA year-round. Low-calorie, low-carb, yet hop-forward and bold, Summit Triumphant Session IPA is a 4% ABV India Pale Ale with a balanced bitterness and clean finish.

Cherry Oh! (Indianapolis, IN) – Sun King Brewing is returning a complex cherry cocktail of wild yeasts and aged in a bevy of barrels. Brewed with an almost reckless abundance of Montmorency cherries, Sun King Cherry Busey is a 6.9% ABV Flanders-style Red Ale with big cherry, raspberry and stone fruit aromatics and a sour sweetness that lingers.
Sun King’s most awarded beer, Cherry Busey was the winner of the Bronze Medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival in the Belgian-Style Fruit Beer Category, the Silver Medal at the 2016 GABF, and the Bronze Medal at the 2017. And it was just awarded a Gold at the 2022 Open Beer Championship.
