THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITS
We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. But clearly all that’s changed. So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while
you were off enjoying the long holiday weekend.
Stillwater Ales Recalls Kanye West Inspired Beer (Baltimore, MD) – We’re pretty sure that Stillwater Artisanal Ales regrets that they ever released an imperial Brettanomyces Porter—which is labeled with the words I Miss the Old Kanye and reportedly featured an image reminiscent of West’s recent Life of Pablo album.” Because Kanye’s people went nuts and the beer is now being recalled. The lesson learned – never acknowledge a self-important asshole, even if you were just having a little fun. And for the record…We miss the Old Kanye too.
Lagunitas Stakes A Claim In Seattle (Washington State) – Odin Brewing recently purchases Hilliard’s Beer and they ended up selling Hilliard’s old tasting room property to Lagunitas to eventually be rechristened as the new Lagunitas Taproom and Beer Sanctuary.
Words To Drink By (Milton, DE) – “A good local pub has much in common with a church, except that a pub is warmer, and there’s more conversation.”
William Blake – English Poet and Painter
New American Craft Beer Gear (Washington, DC) – We’re pretty proud of the fashions we offer at ACB Beer Gear and we’ve just added a bunch of things for 2016. It’s all top-drawer quality and features the artwork of Grammy-nominated graphic artist, Jeff Chenault.
Rhinegeist To Stay Independent (Cleveland, OH) – Over the last couple of weeks the word was that Rhinegeist Brewery was in talks with Anheuser-Busch and that they were in the process of selling out to the global giant. But according to Rick Armon the rumors are far from true and you can read what actually went down HERE.
