Beer Camp Across America Returns In 2016 (Chico, CA / Mills River, NC) – Our buddy Ryan Arnold, who does PR at Sierra Nevada, tipped us yesterday that Beer Camp 2016 is a go. They’ve already secured 30 collaboration partners for a new mixed 12-pack. And next summer they’ll take taking those beers on the road, and visiting 6 different cities for beer festivals where hundreds of other craft brewers will be pouring, too. 2014’s debut Beer Camp Across America 12-pack and the festivals they built around it was nothing short of brilliant – so we’re psyched.

National Cheeseburger Day This Friday (USA) – In the world of beer pairings few things are more welcome than the cheeseburger. And this Friday, September 18^th is National Cheeseburger Day so you know what to do! We’ll be celebrating our burger with a beer, but there are some national chains giving out freebies here.

MillerCoors Will Close Its North Carolina Brewery (Eden, NC) – Reflecting increased competition from the craft beer sector, MillerCoors will be closing their North Carolina brewery due to sales decline. Drinks Business Review reports that “this location was the first to brew Miller Genuine Draft” – so there’s that.

Potentially Pot-Addled Craft Brewer Sentenced For Spilling 12,000 Liters Of Beer (New Zealand) – A disgruntled head brewer at Wanaka Beerworks  who was reportedly in the midst of a breakdown after objecting to a new management style, received the maximum sentence – 12 months’ supervision and ordered to pay $26,000 for the damage he caused the brewery – and cultivating and possessing cannabis.

Taco Beer? (Chicago, IL) – In an effort to secure that increasingly elusive urban Millennial customer (that’s you) the fast-food chain Taco Bell announced plans in June to experiment with selling beer, wine, sangria, and spiked frozen drinks at a new Chicago location according to USA Today. “A second location that will sell only beer and wine near San Francisco’s AT&T Park is slated to open later this month.”

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. And last night we hit up an early-fall seasonal from Flying Dog. Brewed with 100% imported German ingredients Dogtoberfest is a rich 5.6% Märzen that’s a perfect season-changer.
