THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITS
THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITS
We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.
So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourselves.

Budweiser Infused With Metallica? (Quebec City, Canada) – Labatt, a Canadian subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev unveiled a special Metallica-branded beer to commemorate the band’s concert last week at the Centre Vidéotron. The beer, which the brewery refers to as “Budweiser infused with Metallica” will see a very limited release in Quebec on September 28th.
Words To Drink By (Los Angeles, CA) – “Fame doesn’t keep you warm at night, it’s not even a decent friend.”
Bob Lefsetz – the Lefsetz Letter
The Most Expensive Beer In The NFL (San Francisco, CA / Philadelphia, PA) – All the beers sold at NFL Stadiums are ridiculously pricy – it’s just that some are more ridiculous than others. But according to The Team Marketing Report the Eagles top the list, charging you 71 cents per ounce – and the 49ers are right up there too, with beer that’s costing you 63 cents for that buzz. Cincinnati holds the title for the cheapest beer in the NFL (36 cents) – but then their football team sucks.
This Week In Beer History (Stuttgart, Germany) – 194 years ago this week, King Wilhelm I sponsored the first Stuttgart Beer Festival – the precursor to Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest celebration.
