So many beers- So little time… Fall has arrived and with it the beers of the season – and we’ve a number of interesting new releases that you’ll want to chase down….Plus we’ve some new offerings from Upslope and Peak Organic that sound serious as well.

Defend Beer (Brooklyn, NY) – ReedPop, the world’s largest producer of pop culture events and Brooklyn Brewery have launched the official beer of this year’s New York Comic Con. Billed as a superpowered beer, Brooklyn Defender IPA is a 6.7% West Coast-style India Pale Ale that’s amped out of its mind on Pilgrim, Willamette, Cascade, and Mosaic hops – and ready to take on all foes.

Ommegang Ups A Kriek (Cooperstown, NY) – Working Belgian brewery Liefman’s, (also part of the Duvel Moortgat family), Ommegang has crafted a new addition to their year-round portfolio. Ommegang Rosetta is a 5.6% Wild/Sour Ale brewed with cherries. This sweet and tart Kriek is available now year-round in 11.2oz bottles in all of the brewery’s 43 states of distribution.

Another Peak Experience (Portland, ME) – Peak Organic combines Oktoberfest time with the hop harvest season in their newest release. Peak Organic’s Hop Harvest Oktoberfest is a 4.9% Märzen that’s been dry-hopped out of its mind – and that’s a very good thing. This is the Oktoberfest beer for people that don’t think they like Oktoberfest beers.

SweetWater Rolls Out The Barrels (Atlanta, GA) – SweetWater Brewing has just shipped its first barrel-aged release ever.SweetWater Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is a massively rich, full-bodied Imperial Stout laced with notes of chocolate and bourbon, acquired while aging in bourbon barrels. This is a huge beer and at 11.2%, it’s the highest ABV creation that SweetWater will release this year.

The Fall Pumpkin Parade Continues (Asheville, NC) – This week’s addition to the ongoing pumpkin parade comes from Upslope Brewing and it took a gold at the 2011 GABF. Brewed using locally grown baby bear pumpkins and a custom blend of six fall-flavored spices Upslope Pumpkin Ale is a 7.7% farm-to-brewhouse seasonal with an almost cult-like following.
