Quick Hits: American Craft Beer Rules At London Craft Beer Festival / New Trader Joe’s Beer
The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were enjoying the weekend.
American Craft Beer Rules At London Craft Beer Festival
The UK is the third-largest global destination for American craft beer exports, accounting for a significant 8.2% of all shipments. And the Boulder, CO-based Brewers Association has been on a mission to grow its market share in the United Kingdom through its Export Development Program.
The initiative included a high-profile presence at the 2025 London Craft Beer Festival which recently welcomed over 20,000 attendees to its new venue at Magazine, in Greenwich, London
The Brewers Association’s pavilion marked its fifth year at the festival with a bigger-than-ever lineup, pouring 56 beers from 22 U.S. craft breweries alongside the 800-plus offerings from 100 UK brewers.
And while the famously fickle British weather swung from sunshine to showers, it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of festivalgoers, who packed the pavilion to sample the craft and variety of America’s small, independent breweries.
Adding to the buzz, two exclusive tastings hosted by brewery reps gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at their beers and brewing techniques—and drew standing-room-only crowds.

New Trader Joe’s Beer
Trader Joe’s, a beloved grocery store chain known for its unique, private-label products, affordable prices, and quirky, customer-focused experience has debuted a new in-house beer.
True to its name, Simpler Times Lager is a, no-frills brew with a considerably higher octane (6.2% ABV) than most American lagers and at $7.49 a 12pack, that’s a lot of bang for the buck
Like many of Trader Joe’s house beers, Simpler Times Lager is contract-brewed through a partner brewery, in this case Minhas Craft Brewery in Wisconsin. The beer is made specifically for Trader Joe’s and is not available anywhere else.
We’ve not tried this beer, but are big fans of many of Trader Joe’s inhouse creation, so yeah, we’re interested.
