One of China’s leading brewers is feeling the sting of a brewery worker caught pissing into a beer tank. We’ve that “Words to Drink By” and more.

Why We Avoid Tsingtao Beer

An unnamed worker at Tsingtao Brewery No. 3, located in China’s Qingdao City, was captured on video climbing up a tank and relieving himself into one of the facility’s batches of malt.

And on October 19, that video clip went viral after being posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo, where it understandably generated outrage and disgust, and also garnered the attention of the brewery.

“Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on 19 October,” the company said in a statement. We reported the incident to the police at the earliest opportunity, and public security organs are involved in the investigation.

“At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed. The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality,” the company added.

Founded by Spanish-born entrepreneur Julio Romero Johnson Wear Beer’s logo “is based on a worm moving around a three-pointed red star, which represents the international brigades that fought fascism in the 1930s civil war in his home country,” according to the Drinks Business.

Johnson, who  drives a Peugeot, told the Daily Mail that he had now decided to abandon registering the new logo, but will keep using it unless Mercedes issue a cease and desist notice.

“They’re a massive company which, as far as I know, doesn’t sell any kind of beer. Johnso added “Do they have to go to this extreme?”
