Spring is ON and summer not all that far away.  And we’ve some interesting new beer releases that should pair smartly with your weekend.

Eye-Opening (NYC) – Guinness, home to the world’s most popular nitro stout, has a new variation that combines everything you love about coffee and Guinness into one beer. The perfect balance of bitter and sweet with a roast coffee flavors, Guinness Nitro Cold Brew Coffee is a 4% ABV coffee-infused Irish Stout with a rich, smooth and creamy palate, and hints of espresso, chocolate and caramel.

“Nitro Cold Brew Coffee beer is a welcome addition to the Guinness family, and the response so far has been incredible,” said Nikhil Shah, Guinness Brand Director. “Now that it’s officially iced coffee season, we’re excited to give consumers a coffee-forward beer to enjoy during their spring and summertime occasions.”

With breweries in Dublin and Baltimore, Guinness Nitro Cold Brew Coffee beer is now a permanent addition to the Diageo’s Guinness portfolio and hitting retail now.

Border Crossing (Orange County, CA) – The Bruery is returning a popular summer seasonal that was inspired the Mexican horchata, a traditionally non-alcoholic drink.  Originating in Spain around the 13th century, horchata can take many forms but is traditionally a creamy rice-based drink that is sweetened with vanilla and cinnamon. It’s hugely popular across Central America.

The Bruery’s Or Xata (pronounced or-chah-tah) is a 7.2% ABV Blonde Ale blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and vanilla along with lactose for a little extra creamy heft.

“Here in Southern California, we are incredibly lucky to be a part of a diverse and vibrant community, with no shortage of awesome Mexican food. Horchata, says Bruery VP of Operations Darren Moser. “The beverage behind this beer, is a staple offering at many of our favorite local spots.”

Doubling Down On Chocolate (Dallas, TX) – Lakewood Brewing has returned a popular addition to its popular “Seduction Series,” its bestselling line of Temptress Imperial Milk Stout variations that the brewery continues to expand upon.

Brewed with copious amounts  of dark cocoa provided by Yellowbelly Chocolates, Lakewood Double Chocolate Temptress is a bigger, and bolder take on its classic Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout, that founder/brewer Wim Bens describes as a “a dark chocolate lover’s dream.
