And when do you do step away from the CBC’s many seminars and forums this week, we’ve some places you might want to check out.

Ryman Auditorium

Home to the original ‘Grand Ole Opry’ which has moved to a more contemporary venue, Ryman Auditorium continues to country music’s hottest talent.

Ryman offer backstage tours and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the legendary music venue’s history but many say the best way to experience it is at a concert. Check the concert hall’s website for upcoming shows.

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Ryman Auditorium is open every day from 9 am to 4 pm.

Even if you think you don’t care about country music this place is impressive. Where else can you peruse a two-story wall plastered with every gold and platinum country record produced…or Studio B, one of the world’s most influential recording studios?

Sitting in the heart of downtown Nashville – across the street from the Gaylord Entertainment Center – the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm.

Belle Meade Plantation

Known as the “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations,” the historic Belle Meade mansion which was built in the 1830’s serves as the centerpiece to the 30 acres of beautifully landscape grounds that also includes a winery and 10 outbuildings scattered around the estate.

Located about 8 miles southwest of downtown Nashville, the Belle Meade Plantation is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

Athena at the Parthenon

In addition to its world-famous “Music City’ nickname, Nashville is also known as the “Athens of the South” thanks to the many colleges and universities in the city. And that moniker influenced the choice of the building of Nashville’s Parthenon as the centerpiece of the 1897 Centennial Exposition

Today the Parthenon, a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, stands as the centerpiece of Nashville’s beautiful Centennial Park, where it also functions as an art museum.

Located a little more than 2 miles southwest of downtown Nashville, the Parthenon is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4:30 pm

Tootsies Orchid Lounge

Nashville, 5 Crafty Things To Do In Nashville While You’re In Town for the CBCAfter a day of exploring Music City’s more historic music venues it’s time to get “down and dirty’ at a  downtown club/bar that’s beloved by the locals!

Since back when the Grand Ole Opry was still the Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie’s “World Famous” Orchid Lounge has been featuring performances by both world-renowned and up-and-coming artists

Yes it’s cramped and the dance floor can get wild but that’s part of Tootsies’ vibe. Plus it’s a place where even the most famous musicians hang out to dink when they’re not on the road.

So have a blast while you’re in Nashville and behave yourself…we’re begging you!
