Summer is fleeting and American craft brewers are addressing things with intriguing new beers you’re gonna want to have around this weekend.

Darkness, Darkness (Croydon & Bristol, PA) – Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewery and taproom located just north of Philadelphia in Bucks County. And they’ve just released something special that they did with Second Sin Brewing that was born of friendship and love of music.

Neshaminy Creek Head Brewer Jason Ranck and Second Sin Co-owner & Head Brewer Jake Howell used to work overnight together at Neshaminy Creek. The bond they formed over brewing and music, especially Pallbearer, led to a six-year friendship that the duo is celebrating with this long-overdue collaboration.

Available at Second Sin and Neshaminy Creek’s Croydon and Dublin taprooms with limited cases and draft, Without Light is a 5.2% ABV Czech Dark Lager, brewed with floor-malted Bohemian barley that has notes of dark bread, light chocolate, and a pleasant noble spiciness from mounds of Saaz hops.

Elder-Buried (Waitsfield, VT) – An award-winning Vermont craft brewery with a commitment to quality and sustainability, Lawson’s Finest Liquids has new summertime limited release that’s almost too much fun. Brewed using berries from wild plants with lacy white flowers that are native to New England, Lawson’s Elderberry Gose is a tart and salty summer seasonal that will not disappoint.

Elderberry Gose is proudly woman-powered, imagined and brewed by Julie Smith, Lawson’s Finest’s brewery lab manager. “Kettle souring and a light malt base leave this brew with a pleasant pucker that gives way to a clean, fruity sip,” said Smith. “The color highlights the herbal flavor profile of elderberries while the flavors offer an exciting and refreshing profile for summer that is a bit different from traditional citrusy sours.”

Brewed To Chill (Normal, IL) – With more craft breweries than ever before, brewing serious non-alcoholic beer, ACB has expanded its coverage to include new NA beers that matter. And Big Drop Brewing, a UK headquartered non-alcoholic brewery that also contact brews its beers for the US at the Destihl Brewery in Illinois, matters.
