The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – October 10, 2014
Hey it’s Friday…Work’s wrapping up and you’re ready to shut down and have some fun. Well good, because we’re all about it and we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music, and cutting-edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.
So welcome to our awesome Weekend Picks…

On The Big Screen – Fall movies are known for amping up the “gravitas factor” – with more prestige productions making their way into the multiplexes – and The Judge is a perfect example. This courtroom drama stars Robert Downey as a big city lawyer who returned to his childhood home to defend a judge who’s also his father (Robert Duvall) and is suspected of murder.

Beer Durham (Durham, NC) – The All About Beer folks are presenting their annual World Beer Festival this Saturday (Oct. 11th). This two-session event will feature more than 200 craft beers from all around the world as well as “The Art of Beer” educational village where you can drink beer and get smarter – rather than the other way around. TV Time – HBO recently returned Boardwalk Empire for its fifth and final run and if you’ve not yet checked it out – it’s time. Steve Buscemi stars as Enoch “Nucky” Thompson, a true life political figure (and gangster) who rose to prominence and controlled Atlantic City during the Prohibition period of the 1920s and early 1930s. Richly cast, smartly written, and beautifully filmed, Boardwalk Empire’s final season is both melancholy and violent and promises to not end gently.
