So welcome to our awesome Weekend Picks…
Serious Beer In A Serious Beer City (Pittsburgh, PA) – The largest beer festival the city has ever seen will be taking place tonight and tomorrow (Feb 26th-27th) at the David L Lawrence Convention Center, when the 3rd annual 2015 Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest returns to town. Presented by Fatheads Brewery, this two-evening beerganza will feature more than 350 beers from America’s best craft brewers. Plus there will be live music, great food and 10,000 like-minded craft beer fans to party with, so things are going to get crazy. For a complete listing of everybody coming check out: Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest
On The Big Screen – The Academy Awards will be celebrating the best films of 2015 on Sunday night – and some of the nominees are still at your local Cineplex. This year’s “Best Picture” nominations include The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Mad Max. The Martian, Room, The Revenant and Spotlight. And you can even check out Mad Max on HBO, if you don’t feel like making the trek out to your local theater.
Centennial Drinking (St Louis, MO) – The 2016 St Louis Centennial Beer Festival returns this weekend and it’s taking place in a restored malt house built in 1876 for the Schnaider Brewery. This year’s two-day, three-session event will feature more than 200 beers from the region’s best brewers, with unlimited samples for you to enjoy as you explore the historic setting. For more info on what promises to be a great weekend check out: St Louis Centennial Beer Festival
TV Time – Hey the Academy Awards are on ABC this Sunday, so if you’re a glutton for punishment you can spend four endless hours, that you’ll never get back, watching this vanity-fest. But we suggest that your time might be better spent watching something more artful and exciting – like this season’s return of The Walking Dead.
Our Weekend Beer Pick
Durango, Colorado-based Ska Brewing is a favorite of ours, and this weekend we’ll be hitting up a fruit-forward variation of Modus Hoperandi IPA. Ska Modus Mandarina is a 6.8% citrus IPA that’s dry-hopped out of its mind on Mandarina Bavaria and brewed with sweet orange peels. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
