THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITS

We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.

So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.

, THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITSFlying Dog’s Backyard Symposium (Frederick, MD) –  Flying Dog Brewery recently hosted another of their fantastic Backyard Symposiums, an industry- only event that they throw annually at their compound, when just about everybody in the craft beer biz is in nearby Washington DC for SAVOR festivities. This year’s event was attended by over 300 industry heavies- who gathered on what turned out to be the perfect summer day, to enjoy an afternoon of serious beer, delicious barbecue and insightful panel discussions on the state of the craft beer industry. Many thanks to Jim Caruso, Erin Weston and the whole Flying Dog crew for having us out – and we promise we won’t drink so much, next time around.
