Houston, Texas-based Saint Arnold Brewing has just opened their long anticipated beer garden and restaurant complex and much of it is inspired by great churches of Europe. Ambitious? Totally! Trippy? That too…And we’ve some pictures that prove it.
A dream (hey we all have them) of Brock Wagner, who founded the award-winning Saint Arnold Brewing 24 years ago, opened this week, his expansive new beer garden and “modern meets ancient” restaurant has finally opened and it was well worth the wait!
Built on a site, that according to the Houston Chronicle used to be a tow lot (bummer, that will be missed) Wagner’s new cathedral to beer does evoke some of the elements of Europe’s gothic churches with its towering arches faux religious murals given a contemporary spin by six local artists and heavy iron chandeliers..
And yes, those great cathedrals did serve ceremonial wine, but Wagner’s new emporium which is just across the train tracks from Saint Arnold’s imposing red brick production facility, has BEER and lots of it.Plus it has a great view of Houston’s iconic skyline.
