Boston Beer Gets Its Groove Back

After 5 tumultuous years of bubble highs and concerning new lows, the Boston Beer Company, a publicly traded company which is home to Samuel Adams and Dogfish Head beers, now looks like it’s got its groove back, showing recovery in both “revenue per share” (total sales a company brings in for each share of its stock) and “operating income per share” (profit from core business operations).

But keep in mind that Boston Beer is so much more than a beer producer. It’s now home to an expanding menu of alcoholic beverages like Twisted Tea and Truly hard seltzer, which continue to show more strength than its beer sector.

According to Yahoo! Finance, the “Dogfish Head deal, valued at around $300 million, was intended to combine two innovative craft brewers and strengthen Boston Beer’s position in the craft segment, but it has been financially disappointing due to repeated impairment charges and underperformance relative to expectations.”
