But we have to ask if this is the right fit?
Does this beer have legs?
Is it a limited run?
Here’s the deal…
Let’s start with the obvious question “will there also be a Harpoon running shoe?” and we’re kinda disappointed to report that that answer is “not exactly.”
However Reebok has partnered with Boston’s Harpoon Brewery for a limited-edition release of Rec League Pale Ale dubbed, “The Reebok Edition.”
And in addition to giving Harpoon’s popular low-cal Hazy IPA, Rec League Pale Ale, a bit of a facelift and an additional name this collaboration is for a good cause.
According to Gear Patrol, “a portion of the proceeds from all Rec League x Reebok beer sales will be donated to BOKS, a free physical activity program designed to get kids active and establish a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.
The Reebok-backed organization grants access to over 50 resources aimed at getting kids moving throughout the day, tapping into mindfulness, teaching nutrition concepts and more
So that’s good, right?
And although there’s not a specific Harpoon running shoe, Reebok is giving away 10 limited-edition pairs of its soon-to-be-released Floatride Energy 4 running shoes, all treated with a Rec League Pale Ale-inspired aesthetic.
So there’s that too.
And too keep things “sporty? Reebok + Harpoon will be releasing its special edition of Rec League Pale Ale in packaging that looks like a shoe box, so you’ll be able to sneak the beer into the park when you’re playing a pick-up game of basketball.
So maybe this alliance is a “fit” after all?
