Baltimore Brewery Pledges To Change Company Culture After “Virtual Assault” Allegations
Back in 2018/early 2019 one of the owners/founders of Union Craft Brewing unlocked several female employees phones without their permission), went through their private photos and videos, and sent himself illicit/sexual photos and videos that he found from their devices.
On September 7 Union Craft Brewing, one of Maryland’s most popular breweries, took to Facebook to address the issue explaining that had hired an independent consultant to help reshape the company’s culture and had severed ties with an unnamed member of the brewery’s team after “allegations of harassment” surfaced.
“We know the road ahead to do so will not be easy, but we are committed to making meaningful changes for our valued employees and the greater community, the brewery said in its statement. “We can and will do better.”

Japanese Brewing Major Ensnared in Myanmar Human Rights Crisis
We’ve reported that Kirin Holdings Limited, home to Kirin Beer, has “ties to a military-run business enterprise with a stake in Myanmar Brewery, the Southeast Asian country’s largest beer manufacturer. And that Kirin owns a majority stake in the brewery…
But now leaked documents that were seen by Amnesty International show that Myanmar’s military, which has been accused of years of human rights abuses, has received as much as £12 billion from Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited (MEHL).
A spokesperson for Kirin, which also owns UK craft brewers Fourpure and Magic Rock through its Australian subsidiary Lion, said it was “deeply concerned by the report”.
Kirin signed a joint-venture agreement with MEHL in 2015, which gave it control of Myanmar Brewery Limited and Mandalay Brewery Limited.
