NFL football is back with fans making their annual stadium pilgrimage to cheer on their favorite teams, only to be confronted with the world’s most expensive beers.
And this year the beer sold at NFL stadiums is higher than ever. In fact according to new data from FinanceBuzz, beer prices have increased on average by 25 percent across the NFL, with the average cost of one game day beer now at $8.81.
Yikes!
To determine which teams have increased beer prices the most, the financial advice website collected data from the 2013 and 2023 for the NFL Fan Cost Index (performed annually by Team Marketing Report) and they found beer price increases that would stun the most hardened stadium goer.
At a glance, here’s how game day pricing for beer has changed over the years:
- The Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, and Los Angeles Rams doubled their beer prices over the past 10 years
- In 2023, the Carolina Panthers had the 10th most expensive beer in the league ($10.56) — a 142% increase
- A 16-ounce pour is cheapest at the Arizona Cardinals stadium, but it will still set you back $9.25
On the other hand, Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jacksonville Jaguars fans should be especially amped for this season knowing that their teams have the most affordable prices.
