Sierra Nevada Expands Its Harvest (Chico, CA) – We’re excited about this. Sierra Nevada’s Harvest Series is expanding to five large format IPA releases this year and will showcase newly developed hop varieties and explore diverse hopping methods: single hop, fresh hop, wet hop, and wild hop.The first beer, Harvest Single Hop IPA, shipping nationwide next week, features the unnamed hop 291, which seesaws between floral aromas and notes of blueberry and black pepper. Another single hop IPA, as well as fresh hop (Southern Hemisphere Harvest), wet hop (Northern Hemisphere Harvest), and wild hop IPAs round out the lineup.

Burning Down The House (Houston, TX) – Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted six more weeks of winter, but in Texas, spring is already in the air. This week, Karbach Brewing Co. began shipping their spring seasonal offering and we can’t wait to get our hands on some. Karbach Barn Burner Saison is brewed with local ruby red grapefruit and a blend of spices for added complexity, and it’s out there now – so you know what to do.

Get Crowned with Evil Genius (West Grove, PA) – The Evil Genius Beer Company is getting ready to crown its new ruler. Hop King Imperial IPA is a regal and aggressively hop-forward 8.1% ABV ale that’s brewed with Pale and Crystal malts and recklessly hopped with Warrior, Simcoe, Citra, and Amarillo. Look for this massive Imperial to debutin cases and draft in early February.

New Hop Kitchen Collaboration From New Belgium (Asheville, NC) – Asheville beer drinkers will get first crack at New Belgium Brewing’sRyePA, brewed with Carolina Rye from Asheville’s own Riverbend Malt House, when the beer launches locally there in late-February. Its diverse hop profile, comprising 40% rye malt, Galaxy, Cascade, Simcoe, and Mosaic, help round out the profile that ends with a spicy rye finish. This Hop Kitchen limited release will be available nationally on draft and in 22 oz. bottles by early March.

Goose Island Dials Up a New 312 (Chicago, IL) – As part of its continuing efforts to refresh its standard lineup, Goose Island Beer Co. is releasing 312 Urban Pale Ale on March 12 (get it? 3/12?). The first nationwide release since it began distributing across the country, 312 Urban Pale Ale is a new variety of Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat Ale and will also be brewed at Anheuser-Busch’s Baldwinsville, NY facility. Following the recent release of Ten Hills Pale Ale, which replaced its Mild Winter Ale, replacements for Goose Island’s Summertime and Harvest ales will come later this year with Endless IPA (April) and Rambler IPA (August), respectively.

A Visit from Uncle Jacob (Boulder, CO) – Break out your banjo and your overalls and get ready to stock your cellar becauseUncle Jacob’s Stout is coming back on February 9th. This will be the third release of the highly coveted and critically acclaimed stout. The second member of Avery Brewing’s Annual Barrel Series, it is a 14.83% ABV stout aged in first-use Bourbon barrels for six months (Yikes!).
