New India Pale Lagers and Hazy Pale Ales

August is ON, but fall is just around the corner and American craft brewers are addressing the changing seasons with interesting new beer offerings you’re gonna want to have around.

One Batch Dispatch (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing is celebrating “the art of the single batch” with its new One Batch Dispatch Series featuring some of the brewery’s most complex innovations, each brewed just once. And its first one sounds interesting. Developed by Kris Ketcham, Stone’s Senior Manager of Brewing & Innovation – Liberty Station, Stone Orange Scream Hazy IPA is an 8.8% ABV India Pale Ale with vanilla and orange flavors that mimic the classic Creamsicle.

“These beers are just too complicated to make on a large scale so it’s really risky,” said Ketcham. “There’s no room for adjustments when scaling up from a 10-barrel pilot system to our 120-barrel system with just one batch. Our Innovation and Production Teams are working magic to make these happen.”

A Haze Wave Of Epic Proportions (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing is returning a hazed out monster that’s built with a sturdy grain bill of pilsner malt, Vienna malt and wheat, and hopped out of its mind on a combination of Citra, Sabro, Sultana and Simco.

Named after the dry-hopping system Tröegs has employed for close to a decade, Tröegs Hop Cyclone is a massive 9% ABV Double Hazy IPA with huge ripe pineapple, soft citrus and juicy peach notes.

The art for Hop Cyclone was conjured up by Art of Tröegs alum Devin Watson. Fans of the brewery’s Double IPA fans might remember the Candyland-inspired art he did for LolliHop India Pale Ale.

Maiden Hell (Canal Winchester, OH) – With over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Iron Maiden is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history and now the legendary band has partnered with BrewDog USA on a new collaboration brewed in Columbus, Ohio. A complex balance of malts and hops, Iron Maiden/BrewDog Hellcat is a hazy gold 6% ABV India Pale Lager with a bright citrus-forward flavor.
