Spring is ON! And American craft brewers are addressing the season with ambitious new offerings that are fun and user-friendly…
Coastal Alert (Lewiston, ME) – Baxter Brewing has a new March addition to its family of core offerings that you might want to chase down. With an ambience that mirrors much of the weather off Maine’s rocky coast, Baxter Coastal Haze is a 5.9 ABV New England-style Hazy IPA with bright citrus, stone fruit, and berries.
“The development of Coastal Haze was a fun process,” says Baxter Brewing Quality Director, Merritt Waldron. “We took what we learned from using new hoping techniques in Ice Storm of ’98 and applied them to Coastal Haze.”
Get Flagged (Austin, TX) – On March 28, Oskar Blues Brewery is unveiling the first specialty canned offering ever, brewed by and released from the Oskar Blues Austin location. Crafted and barrel-aged in collaboration with Austin’s Garrison Brothers Distillery, 7th Flag Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter is a MASSIVE 10.3% ABV Texas behemoth with a dark, full-bodied mouthfeel with a sweet molasses finish.
Named for a 7th flag which once flew over Texas, this uber-special release is an homage to rebellious Texan roots, as Oskar Blues Brewery celebrates its fifth year calling Austin home, and their new ability to sell beer to-go. And it’s now available in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at Oskar Blues Brewery taprooms in Austin, Texas; Boulder, Colorado; Longmont, Colorado; and Brevard, North Carolina.
Evenings in Vienna (Portland, OR) – Oregon’s Ecliptic Brewing and Washington State’s Chuckanut Brewery have teamed to recreate a classic lager, the brewery’s second Cosmic Collaboration of the new year. Brewed with Barke Vienna and Pilsner Malts, as well as traditional German Saphir and Hersbrucker hops, Ecliptic + Chuckanut Vienna Lager is a crisp 4.8% ABV copper-hued refresher, with a light toast aroma and rich malty finish.
