With St Patrick’s Day now in the rearview mirror, American craft brewers are addressing the changing season with a variety of new offerings that are fun and user-friendly…

A Wild Ride (Longmont, CO) – Oskar Blues Brewery has an interesting new addition to its always interesting line of craft beers that’s now available nationwide in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft.

Brewed with innovative yeast strains, which produce the lactic acid necessary for a punch of tartness and copious amounts of pink guava and tangerine, Oskar Blues Guava Rodeo Sour Ale is a 6% ABV tart and tangy refresher with big mango, passionfruit, lemon and tangerine aromatics and a lingering fruit-forward finish.

We wanted to create a fruited sour but with an attitude and amplitude worthy of the style-crushing beers in the Oskar Blues Brewery lineup,” said Juice Drapeau, (love the name) head brewer for Oskar Blues Brewery. “Guava Rodeo tramples the craft beer style guides and smashes together tropical and tart in a major way.”

Lolli-Hopped (Hershey, PA) –Tröegs Independent Brewing has a fun new release that began as a Small Batch Series project and is now seeing much wider distribution. Built upon a sturdy foundation of Pennsylvania-grown Rustic pale malt from nearby Double Eagle, Tröegs LolliHop, is an 8.2% ABV Imperial IPA with a slightly hazy character, bright notes of pear, citrus and a hint of melon, and otherworldly label art from Baltimore, MD-based artist and Art of Tröegs alum Devin Watson.

“The inspiration for LolliHop begins in the hop fields of Yakima Valley, Washington, during the brewery’s annual pilgrimage to this hop-growing hotbed,” explains Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster, John Trogner. “We eyeball the hops, crush them in our hands and rub them till their oils fill the air. We were like kids in a candy store”

Brewed using actual churros from local bakeries, Sun King and 18th Street Brewery’s Churro-licious is an 8% ABV Pastry Stout that doesn’t disappoint.
