The seasons are changing, and Sierra Nevada Brewing is returning two special beers, a legendary Fresh Hop Ale along with a special variation that may be the brewer’s rarest offering ever.
Fresh Hop To It (Chico, CA / Mills River, NC) -One of the nation’s most accomplished craft brewers Sierra Nevada Brewing has a winter offering that New Belgium founder Kim Jordon claims is her go-to holiday beer, and we couldn’t agree with her more.
First brewed in 1981, Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop Ale is a 6.8% ABV India Pale Ale, one of a very few, winter holiday beers that’s actually an IPA. And because it’s a fresh-hop India Pale Ale it’s subtly different every year, which keeps things interesting
But Celebration Ale is more than a winter holiday beer it’s also brewed to commemorate and celebrate the year’s hop harvest season, the beer showcases the intensely aromatic and flavorful characteristics of freshly harvested whole-cone hops and is well-suited for celebrations of all kinds
“Hop harvest is always an exciting time for our brewery teams, the farmers and for the craft beer community. It’s rooted in tradition and there’s a notable celebratory feeling in the air,” said Brian Grossman, Chief Brewer and second-generation brewery owner at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. “Celebration Fresh Hop IPA represents pride and passion in every stage of the beer making process, from farming to brewing to serving. Each pour is a celebration and we’re proud of every last drop.”

Celly Drippins: The Ultimate Cult Beer
With the brewing of Celebration Fresh Hop IPA comes Sierra Nevada’s rarest offering, Celly Drippins. Once a secret among brewers, this extremely rare release is a story of patience. Made from the drippings of the dry hop bags used to make Celebration Fresh Hop IPA, Celly Drippins is a more intense version of the beer. Smooth and deeply flavorful, this liquid gold brings our brewery together to enjoy the small handful of barrels produced each year.
“When we empty a tank of Celebration Fresh Hop IPA, the dry-hop bags stay behind, hanging in midair by a pulley system. We patiently wait and collect every drop of beer from those saturated bags—extreme fresh hop flavor we call Celly Drippins. Out of every 5,000 cans of regular Celebration IPA, we get the equivalent of one can of Celly Drippins.”
New for 2025, Celly Drippins will be available at both the Mills River, NC and Chico, CA brewery locations for draft pours November 21 – 24. First pours of Celly Drippins will be served on November 21 at 3 pm local time in each location. A limited quantity will be poured each day until that day’s allotment runs out.
This is the ultimate cult release and certainly a beer worth travelling for. And Sierra Nevada is encouraging fans to plan a visit to one or both of its locations for a one-of-a-kind tasting experience.
