Summer is ON but fall’s not that far away and the best brewers are addressing the changing seasons with intriguing new offerings you’re gonna want to have around.
Feel The Draught (Ireland) – It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Guinness. On a craft beer junket to Ireland a couple years back we ended many a night with their classic drink in hand.
Brewed exclusively at St James Gate in Dublin, Ireland and available worldwide Guinness Draught is a rich and creamy nitro-fueled Irish Dry Stout which at 4.2% ABV that is already being consumed at St Patrick’s Day celebrations around the world.
Developed in 1959, this beer marked a celebration of Arthur Guinness signing his 9,000-year lease and 200 years of groundbreaking brewing.
A Pils That Thrills (Waitsfield, VT) – An award-winning Vermont craft brewery with a commitment to quality and sustainability, Lawson’s Finest Liquids has new summertime limited release that’s almost too much fun.
Lawson’s Scrag-arita is a 4.8% ABV Czech Pilsner generously infused with lime juice and sea salt for a well-balanced dance of crisp and tart. This brew, known in years past as Scrag Mountain Pils With Salt & Lime, had been affectionately called “Scrag-arita” by the Lawson’s Finest team and taproom visitors so often that the name stuck.
“Summertime in the Northeast is something special. Whether you enjoy camping, lake time, exploring trails or simply backyard barbecuing, there’s something epic to do all summer long. At Lawson’s Finest, our mission this season is to offer you the perfect refresher for any summer activity, and that’s exactly what we’ve done with Scrag-arita,” said Sean Lawson, founding brewer of Lawson’s Finest Liquids.
The Beer Of The Mustang Nation (Garland, TX) – SMU class of 2000 grad and East Dallas resident Wim Bens, founder and president of Lakewood Brewing Co., has released a new beer for the ultimate Southern Methodist University of Dallas fan whose mascot is a Mustang pony which has been a part at every SMU home football game (except one) since 1932.
Lakewood Pony Pils is a 4.5% American Golden Lager designed for a fun tailgate and game-day experience – Bens even designed the can.
Bens, who founded Lakewood 11 years ago as the craft brewing frenzy was in it its earliest beginnings, said he’s been thinking about doing a Pony beer for years and is excited to be on the boulevard on game day with one in hand. Sales benefit Lakewood’s first scholarship, as detailed in the attached, with $1 from every case gong to the LBC Future Brewer Stem Scholarship.
