Winter’s coming and American craft brewers are addressing the cooling season with an intriguing roster of new beers you’re gonna want to have around as the nights get longer.

Going For The Gold ( San Diego, CA) – Karl Strauss Brewing, San Diego’s first craft brewery, is once again challenging expectations with the return of one of its most award-winning creations.

Crafted with a carefully calibrated blend of Bird Rock coffee, Ghanaian cocoa nibs, and real vanilla beans., Karl Strauss’ Golden Stout is a 7.5% ABV one-of-a-kind beer that skips the traditional roasted malts you’d expect in a stout. These aren’t just expensively sourced natural ingredients; they’re the soul of the beer, each one cold-steeped and layered in at key moments in the brewing process to deliver roast-like flavors without the roasted malts.

“It’s a beer built on craft decisions,” says Brewmaster Paul Segura. “We wanted to show what’s possible when you rethink the basics. People see gold in the glass and expect something light. Then they take a sip and light up. It’s unlike anything else, it’s unexpected, and it sticks with you. Golden Stout is proof that a beer doesn’t have to color inside the lines to make a statement.”

This very special limited release is currently available on draft and in four packs of 16-oz cans across California, Arizona, and Nevada. But the best place to try it is at one of Karl Strauss’ nine SoCal brewpubs, so you know what to do.

Bold, Buzz-Free & Bottled In Italy (Rome) – Peroni Nastro Azzurro is a premium pilsner beer from the brewery, Peroni di Roma which is brewed using the original recipe since 1963. And Peroni 0.0% arrives to the US as a growing number of Americans are increasingly seeking out low- or no-alcohol options.

“Peroni 0.0% was brewed with an innovative dealcoholization process to deliver the superior taste that customers expect from Peroni Nastro Azzurro,” Cara Lauritzen, senior marketing manager for Peroni said. ‘Some 90% of consumers we tested agreed it matches our full-alc beer better than competitors.”
