Hey, Hey, More IPA’s
Hey, Hey, More IPA’s
In an effort to showcase the most interesting new releases we try to run ‘Beer Alerts’ weekly…But with so many new IPA’s coming down the pike we’ve been forced to play catchup. But everybody likes IPA’s…right?
Cumulous Imperialous (Athens, GA) – Terrapin Beer is returning something special as part of their Terrapin Anniversary Carnival on April 14th. Unfiltered and brewed with over four pounds of hops per barrel, Terrapin Cumulus Lupulus is 8.1% ABV Imperial India Pale Ale that’s a huge blast of tropical citrus flavors and cloudy by nature!
Tempted By The Fruit Of Another (Ft Collins, NY) – The industry has been buzzing about New Belgium’s brewed blend of hops and hemp and we gotta admit we’re interested. New Belgium’s The Hemperor is a 7% ABV IPA (they call it an HPA, but whatever) that uses hemp terpenes (the essence of hemp) not the mood-enhancing cannabinoid THC compound, to tone the beer.
Get A Gripah (Nantucket Island, MA) – New England’s Cisco Brewers is clearly psyched about their first addition to their year-round portfolio since 2014 and they’ve reason to be! First introduced almost three years ago to celebrate Cisco’s 20th anniversary, Gripah IPA is a 5% ABV India Pale Ale with fresh grapefruit zest added at late fermentation to keep things vibrant.
Incredibly Evil But Still Kinda Fun (Bend, OR) – Goodlife Brewing has a new year-round addition to their portfolio that is doubling down on evil. Originally crafted for the Oregon Brewers Festival 2013 and now available 365 days of the year, Goodlife Evil Sister Double IPA is an 8.5% ABV Imperial India Pale that’s evil (but still kinda fun).
Stone Stings! (Escondido, CA) – No stranger to taking chances, Stone Brewing has a new Citrus IPA that was intentionally brewed with no fruit additives. Bursting with bright notes of mango, pineapple, tangerine, guava and passion fruit and layers upon layers of fruit-forward flavors, Stone Scorpion Bowl IPA is a 7.5% ABV India Pale Ale that will surprise you with just the right amount of bite in its finish.
