When you think nuns you don’t normally see them with chainsaws…And when you think ‘nuns with chainsaws’ you probably don’t think craft beer.
You know, sometimes we can’t make this stuff up.
Sister Margaret Ann (she’s the nun with the chainsaw) was recently spotted by an off-duty Miami-Dade police officer, clearing trees that had fallen in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
And of course he took a video (you gotta love the IPhone) after all you don’t see a nun (in traditional nun garb) going full-on ‘Texas chainsaw’ very often.
And predictably that video went viral (again nuns with chainsaws) which according to the Miami Herald inspired a new beer (hey why not?).
Boynton Beach-based Due South Brewing has just released a beer inspired by, and dedicated to, the industrious chainsaw-wielding nun and it’s available now on draft and in 16oz cans (hey this is Florida).
Due South’s Nun with a Chainsaw is a 7% ABV India Pale Ale that we expect is ‘a cut above.’
