Breweries Nationwide To Host “Resilience Night” For Camp Fire Victims

|December 19th, 2018|

Fire clouds the sky over Sierra Nevada

The beer story of the year is Sierra Nevada’s crusade to aid the victims of Northern California’s devastating Camp Fire and the more than 1,400 craft breweries that joined the charitable Resilience IPA effort…

And now it’s your turn to help…

What started as act of heartfelt compassion…when Sierra Nevada announced that they’d be brewing a beer and donating 100% of its profits to organizations assisting victims of the devastating wildfire and invited the nation’s brewers to join them as well… has turned into an international effort the likes of which the craft beer industry has never seen.

The Resilience IPA project is a collaborative fundraising effort for those impacted by Northern California’s Camp Fire.

The Camp Fire, which started in the hills above Sierra Nevada’s Chico brewery, was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history, killing at least 86 people and displacing more than 14,000 families, including many Sierra Nevada employees.

As of our last count, more than 1400 brewers, some as far away as New Zealand, had signed on to partake in the Resilience IPA charity effort and the number continues to grow every day.

Each participating brewery is brewing its own Resilience Butte County Proud IPA and donating 100% of its proceeds to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund, a charity that had already been seeded by a $100,000 donation from Sierra Nevada.

And this week it’s your turn to help…

On Thursday, December 20, 2018 participating craft breweries from coast to coast will be hosting “Resilience Night” at their taprooms and serving up their own versions of Resilience Butte County Proud IPA to help raise even more money for the Camp Fire relief effort.

And Sierra Nevada founder and owner Ken Grossman is asking America’s craft beer community to show up and to bring family and friends…

“Now we’re asking drinkers to come together and help us raise funds by buying the beer. And what better way to do it than with a nationwide pint night?” If the beer sells out, the project could raise more than $15 million for direct Camp Fire relief.”

“We are so grateful to the breweries, the suppliers, the wholesalers and retailers who have so graciously donated their time and resources to make this happen. And the help of the drinkers everywhere, we’ll be able to make a lasting difference in the lives of those impacted by this terrible tragedy.”

Sierra Nevada will be hosting Resilience Night event as well on Thursday, December 20, at both its Chico, California and Mills River, North Carolina breweries.
