Wildfire clouds the sky over Sierra Nevada

Yikes, it’s almost Thanksgiving…but clearly the craft beer biz isn’t slowing down any time soon. But no worries, the Beer Buzz is always on the case, keeping you up on all the beer news and lifestyle that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that!

Sierra Nevada Establishes Emergency Fire Relief Fund (Chico. CA) – As the world has now come to know, California is being ravaged by the most damaging fires in its history. And Northern California’s Sierra Nevada Brewing has established an emergency relief fund that will help connect the still-active Camp Fire victims with the many nonprofit and government agencies whose sole purpose is to help those experiencing disaster.

The Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund is supported through the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation and the brewery is seeding this fund with an initial $100,000 to get started. Once the fire is out (which we all pray is soon) it will distribute all donated funds to partner organizations that are dedicated to rebuilding and supporting the Northern California communities that have been affected.

To contribute to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund follow this link, and select “Sierra Nevada Brewery,” then just follow the additional instructions. Checks can be made payable to “GVBCF – Sierra Nevada” and either dropped off at Golden Valley Bank or mailed to 190 Cohasset Road, Chico, CA 95926.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (San Francisco, CA) – Every year since 1975 Anchor Brewing has released a special new holiday ale, each time with a different recipe and a unique hand-drawn label…and last night we kicked off the season properly! Subtly spiced and silken smooth, Anchor’s 44th Annual Christmas Ale is a 6.9% ABV Winter Warmer with resinous pine aromatics and toasty cocoa notes.
