American Craft Beer has long been on record that “actions have consequences” and that beer spraying is not a game!

The Island Packet is reporting that a South Carolina man was arrested over the weekend on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge after an incident  that ended in him shockingly soaking his girlfriend in beer.

This unfortunate act of “beer spray violence” started at a friend’s birthday where the boyfriend became upset when his girlfriend “would not stop letting another man sit in her seat,” according to the Beaufort County police report.

Uh Oh…

This evidently led to an argument on the way home where the boyfriend allegedly got a beer from the bed of his truck (no surprise there) shook it up and sprayed it on his girlfriend.

While she was thankfully uninjured, responding Belfort County deputies did add that the woman “had what smelled like beer all over her shirt and hair,” (also no surprise).

Additional reports observed that the man was then arrested and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.

American Craft Beer stands in fierce opposition to any proponents of “beer spraying”- whether by industry professionals or by the public – and with the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference nearing (and SAVOR this June) feel that we can all learn from this unfortunate incident.
