Big beer companies are getting ready for the start of the winter holidays with ‘big’ packaging and bottle upgrades to help their brands stand out at an ultra-competitive time of year…

Miller High Life Celebrates the Season with Champagne-Sized Retro Beer Bottles

In an attempt to up its visibility and attract millennials during the holiday season, “The Champagne of Beers” is going big and “Mad Men” at the same time.

After successful tests in in 2016 and 2017 in both Chicago and Milwaukee, Miller High Life took its extra-large retro bottles nationwide last year and it was such a hit for the company, that they’re retuning them again for the holidays…

, Big Brewers Go Bigger For The Holidays“Reception was so good across the country last year that it was a no-brainer to bring it back for 2019,” Nigel Jones, the marketing manager for the Miller family of brands, claimed in a press release….

“The attention our distinctive Champagne bottle commands not only is a great marketing tool to boost brand equity, but it gets the Champagne of Beers into more holiday moments.”

“It’s a perfect shareable bottle, and we know the holidays are all about sharing beers and fun times with family and friends,” says Miller High Life’s brand manager Taylor Brown. “This is a way to remind drinkers we truly are the Champagne of Beers.”

High Life debuted on New Year’s Eve 1903 in clear glass bottles designed to showcase the beer’s clarity. And its elongated necks were deliberately modeled to mimic Champagne bottles.

Embracing both the brand’s almost 115 years of brewing and the more contemporary big bottle format that some craft breweries still champion, Miller High Life’s 750-milliliter retro bottles, come embossed with “The Champagne of Beers” in raised glass letters and feature a long, narrow neck wrapped in gold foil fastened with its classic Girl in the Moon wrap.

Miller High Life’s Champagne-style bottles are available now and will be through the New Year’s celebrations.
