Bell’s Unleashes ‘The Cube’ To Turn Brewery Wastewater Into Energy

Wastewater produced in the brewing process can be a major headache for brewers that can overload city treatment plants as well as the environment.

That’s why Kalamazoo-based Bell’s Brewery built The Cube…And no it’s not something out of the X-Files…

Megan Kaiser is an environmental engineer at Bell’s and in the video below she explains the magic behind The Cube Bell’s bio-energy building that converts about 75 percent of the residual protean, sugars and alcohol from brewing wastewater into renewable energy before sending that wastewater to the City of Kalamazoo.
