This weekend’s Labor Day offerings span summer to fall, and they’re almost too much fun. So welcome to our last Beer Run for August…And there’s plenty to like here.
Good People Gets Funky (Birmingham, AL) – The oldest and largest craft brewery in Alabama has three new additions to Funk Farm Series that should pair exceedingly well with the long Labor Day weekend.
- Tart Farmhouse – A 6.1% ABV Belgian-style Ale aged in French oak barrels.
- Black Currant & Raspberry Farmhouse Ale – A 6.7% ABV oak-aged Belgian-style Farmhouse Ale brewed with black currants and raspberries.
- Pink Guava & Passion Fruit Farmhouse Ale – A 7% ABV. oak-aged Belgian-style Farmhouse Ale brewed with pink guava and passion fruit.
Think Pink, Drink Pink (Asheville, NC) – Hi-Wire Brewing is returning an interesting limited release in September that thinks ‘pink.’ A kettle sour with the perfect balance of raspberry fruit sweetness & lemongrass tones, Hi-Wire Pink Drink is 4.2% ABV Wheat Ale, that’s simple, refreshing and pink. 
Troy’s Night Out (Clifton, Park, NY) – Shmaltz Brewing’s beautiful new tasting room and bottle shop, 518 Craft, in Troy is at the epicenter of one of New York State’s most exciting craft beer regions. And as a homage to eastern Upstate New York , Shmaltz brews an array of small-batch beers under the 518 and 838 banners using ALL regionally grown grains. Brewed with zesty hops including Pacific Gem, Kohatu, and Citra hops the latest addition the series, 518 Troy Night Out Hazy IPA, is a 5.18% ABV India Pale Ale that’s unabashedly local, aromatic and flavorful.
A Snow Job (Cooperstown, NY) – Brewery Ommegang and HBO have announced the newest beer in their collaborative Game of Thrones series and this one’s a homage to the John Snow. Available on Black Friday 2018, the fourth and final beer in this year’s Royal Reserve Collection, Ommegang King in the North is a jet black barrel-aged Imperial Stout that’s as big and bold as the legendary character its named after.
