Diageo, home to Guinness beer brands has teamed up with artisan ice cream maker, Van Leeuwen to launch a chocolate chunk French ice cream made with the iconic stout in the US.

The limited-edition ice cream, which was inspired by the ‘Lovely Day for a Guinness’ advertisements of the 1950s, is packaged in a custom carton, echoing this summer’s limited-edition Guinness four-pack which and reimagines the Guinness toucan art that is also available on retail shelves across the US now.

“As Guinness continues to evolve, we’re finding fresh ways to connect with new fans and show up in unexpected moments,” said Guinness director Karissa Downer. “This collaboration with Van Leeuwen is a perfect example. It’s a playful twist that captures the spirit of summer and moments of connection at the core of our ‘A Lovely Day’ platform.”

The beery ice cream is currently available in 14oz pints from Van Leeuwen Scoop Shops across the US. It will set you back around $11 bucks and can also or can be bought online with shipping available while supplies last.

And this summer the below locations will offer free samples of the Guinness x Van Leeuwen limited-edition “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ice cream served alongside tiny pours of Guinness Draught while supplies last.

Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Chicago: 30 July-1 August
Van Leeuwen Williamsburg Store 12 August from 5-7pm
Astor Place: 14 August from 12-8pm
Van Leeuwen The Gulch Store: 15 August from 5-7 pm
Van Leeuwen Dallas West Village Store: 22 August from 5-7pm
