The 2025 is ON and American craft brewers are celebrating things with an inventive roster of beers that you’ll want to chase down.
Buzz-Free & Bottled In Italy (Rome) – Peroni Nastro Azzurro is a premium pilsner beer from the brewery, Peroni di Roma which is brewed using the original recipe since 1963. And Peroni 0.0% arrives to the US as a growing number of Americans are increasingly seeking out low or no-alcohol options.
“Peroni 0.0% was brewed with an innovative dealcoholization process to deliver the superior taste that customers expect from Peroni Nastro Azzurro,” Cara Lauritzen, senior marketing manager for Peroni said. ‘Some 90% of consumers we tested agreed it matches our full-alc beer better than competitors.”
Stepped in Tradition (Cleaveland, OH) – Great Lakes Brewing has a brewed up a worthy sibling to its popular Conway’s Irish Ale, a popular seasonal which was named to honor the grandfather of Great Lakes Brewing’s co-founders. Available in January on draft and in 12oz cans, Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Stout, is a 4.8% rich and roasty Irish Dry Stout that does not disappoint.
Dark Yet Mild (St Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer has a new addition to its winter offerings that was born in the brewery’s small batch taproom that is now exclusively available as part of the Hello Darkness Variety Pack, a collection of dark niche styles.
Flavorful and malt-forward, yet amazingly light-bodied, Schlafly Dark Mild is a 3.8% ABV British-Style Brown Ale, an almost forgotten beer style here in the US that the brewery has artfully resurrected.
“We regularly have more offbeat styles on tap at our taprooms, so the Hello Darkness pack is an opportunity to bring the talents of our brewers and the taproom experience home,” explains CEO David Schlafly. “With a market crowded with stouts and porters, we invite consumers to learn about different darker beer styles this winter.“
