Yikes, August is nearly over…And brewers are addressing the warm weather with a variety of intriguing new beer offerings that should pair brilliantly with a long Labor Day weekend.
Wild Leap Releases Vanilla Ice Cream Stout (La Grange, GA) – Stout-style beers have a reputation of being enjoyed in the cooler months, but Wild Leap is bucking that trend this Labor Day Weekend with a dark, rich and creamy offering. Brewed with vanilla bean and caramel malt, Wild Leap Vanilla Ice Cream Stout is 10.3% ABV full-bodied limited release that according to the brewery was crafted for decadent drinking.
The 2019 Jester King Terroir Project Release (Austin, TX) – The Terroir Project first launched in 2018 when Firestone Walker invited several of the world’s best brewers to a special event that explores the fusion of grape and grain and how ‘terroir’—or sense of place—drives what we taste. And even though this year’s event won’t take place until September 21st in Los Olivos. California, Jester King is releasing its own 7.3% ABV Terroir Project beer/wine hybrid in Austin on August 28th.
Bossy (Raleigh, NC) – North Carolina-based Big Boss Brewing has a new limited release that’s a hoppy nod to the brewery’s home turf. Brewed with Carolina Rye Heirloom Malt and a smart medley of hops, Big Boss Miss NC is a 6.5% Hazy IPA with massive melon, papaya, mango and grapefruit notes.
Attack Of The Hop-A-Tronig Lupulositor (Denver, CO) – When one thinks India Pale Ales, River North is not the first Denver brewery that comes to mind, but its latest limited release suggests that maybe we should.
Joining the brewery’s Fifteener West Coast IPA, its Mountain Haze Imperial IPA and its Colorado IPA, River North Hop-A-Tronig Lupulositor is a defining 8.3% ABV New England style IPA that was brewed with Galaxy, Mosaic and Citra hops and just enough lactose to sweeten things.
