The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks

Hey it’s the Weekend…and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking!

, The American Craft Beer Weekend PicksArtists & Artisans (Washington, DC) – Our friends at 3 Stars will be throwing their 4th annual Artists & Artisans Summer Jam this Sunday (July 24th) from 2-6pm, and it’s always a good time. The guys at 3 Stars have once again amassed an amazing locavore market at the brewery to celebrate local businesses, promote their friends and fellow entrepreneurs and throw an awesome party. This year is no exception and with 15 different vendors, live music, 2 DJ’s, and tons of great food it’s going to be a mid-blowing day! This year they decided to make this event even more DC-centric by focusing on businesses and brands that are #madeindc certified. The Made in DC campaign promotes businesses that design, produce, or assemble products in the city. And the 3 Stars crew decided to focus on these select businesses due to their commitment to the local economy and their continued support of the small business movement here in DC.

On The Big Screen – This weekend’s big movie opening promises “To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before” and we expect many a “trekkie” will follow. The latest addition to the revitalized franchise, Star Trek Beyond returns Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, and Zoe Saldana to the Starship Enterprise where they encounter a new ruthless enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

OUR WEEKEND BEER PICK

With summer now upon us and temperatures rising we’re dialing things back at the ACB compound and Atlas Brew Works has a beer that’s perfect around now. Inspired by the beers that accompanied America’s expansion into the West, Atlas Brew Works District Common is a 5.1% “California Common” and was fermented using a lager yeast at temperatures more common to ale production.
