The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill
The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill
September already…and clearly nothing is slowing down anytime soon. But no worries, because Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you absolutely don’t want to miss that!
ACB Collaborates With Greenga And Barranco Beer Company (Lima, Peru) – American Craft Beer, and more specifically our international correspondent, Allie B who is based in Peru, brewed a special collaboration with Greenga Brewing and Barranco Beer Company – and we’re pretty excited about it. A labor of love from an experienced alliance of all-female brewers, 6 Tetas (you translate that!) is a hop-forward Mandarin Wheat Ale and a brilliant exercise in beer diplomacy.
Stone Gets A New CEO (Escondido, CA) – Stone’s been in the search for a new CEO ever since Greg Koch announced his intention to transition into a new role of Executive Chairman. And now the brewery has reportedly, named Dominic Engels, who most recently served at POM Wonderful, as their guy. Mr., Engels will officially be in da house this Thursday, and probably won’t be taking our calls.
Words To Drink By – “The truth is like poetry…And most people fucking hate poetry.”
Overheard in a DC bar by Michael Lewis / The Big Short
A VP Grows In Brooklyn (NYC) – According to Brewbound veteran beer industry Dave Duffy will be joining the Brooklyn Brewery as their new VP of business development…He probably won’t return ACB’s panicked calls either.
What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. And last night we hit up a favorite that we received from Weyerbacher Brewing. Weyerbacher Tarte Nouveau is a 3.9% ABV Session Sour that’s both wonderfully tart and surprisingly light.
