The Gourd Standard (Frederick, MD) – We’d pick up Flying Dog’s latest seasonal release, for the name alone. Flying Dog’s the Gourd Standard is a 6.7% ABV Pumpkin IPA that adds “gourdian greatness” (and seasonal spices) to a German Noble hopped India Pale Ale.
Dank Tanked (Atlanta, GA) –SweetWater Brewingjust released the latest from theirDank Tank Series and it takes its name fromthe Burt Reynolds classic –Smokey and the Bandit. The most Brettanomyces forward beer the brewery has ever released SweetWater Smokey and the Brett is a 7.3% ABV hop-forward American Wild Ale that’s available now in 22oz bottles as well as on draft.
Bloody Good (Boulder, CO)–Upslope Brewing is returning a popular fall seasonal that they happily began canning last year.A near perfect melding of blood oranges and Mandarina Bavaria hops, Upslope Blood Orange Saison is 6% ABV spicyBelgian Style Ale that is brewed with fruit and pink peppercorns.
A Greater Good Pumpkin (Baltimore, MD) –Heavy Seas Beeris returning and enormous barrel-aged fall classic. Heavy Seas Great’er Pumpkinisa 10% Imperial Pumpkin Ale with a huge malt body and oaky vanilla tones.
A Juiceless Collaboration (Ashville, NC / Athens, GA) –Wicked Weed and Creature Comforts have just released a decadent collaboration. Billed as“cracking the juicy code” without using actual fruit Juiceless India Pale Ale is a fruit-forward, yet fruitless IPA that’s available now.
