We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. But clearly all that’s changed. So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.

Another Brink In The Wall (Granbury, TX) – Tenth and Blake continued their craft beer buying spree by announcing last Thursday that they’d reached an agreement to acquire a majority interest in Granbury, Texas-based Revolver Brewing. This is the third acquisition in only three weeks for the craft and import division of global giant MillerCoors. Both Oregon-based Hop Valley and Athens Georgia’s Terrapin Beer fell in July… And we predict that this Big Beer buying spree is far from over!

Another Brick In the Wall Dos (China) – And on the other side of the world it bears mentioning that China’s Ministry of Commerce recently approved AB InBev’s takeover of SABMiller thought to be the last barrier to the $103 billion deal’s completion.

What Was Once Old Is New Again (Milwaukee, WI) – As part of recent explosion of new breweries throughout the region, Milwaukee Brewing plans to expand their imprint and production capability and open a new downtown destination brewery in what was once a Pabst distribution center. JS Online is reporting that plans for the new development include the new brewery, a tasting room and a roof top bar with a hillside view of downtown Milwaukee.
