Winter’s waning, and American craft brewers are already looking to spring with a smart roster of lagers you’ll want to chase down.

Seeing Japanese (Huntington Beach, CA)  – BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, a “serious about brewing” dining chain with hundreds of locations across 31 states will soon be debuting a special in-house April release that that they did with Sapporo/Stone brewing team.

Definitely a beer well worth a visit to one of their 215 venues, BJ’s Waterfall Japanese-style Rice Lager is a bright and crisp 4.5% ABV refresher that was crafted with Jasmine rice and Japan-grown Sorachi Ace hops, and  follows the tradition of using rice as an adjunct to create a drier, more delicate character than standard American lagers.

BJ’s is defined by its “brewhouse roots,” combining a broad, family-friendly menu with a significant in-house craft brewing program that has earned over 220 awards since 1996 and this new collaboration lager sounds uber-interesting.

Straw-Buried (New Orleans, LA) – Urban South Brewery has returned a beloved seasonal release that’s a fresh twist on the brewery’s top-selling Paradise Park Lager.

Available now in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Houston, Texas and the Florida Panhandle, Urban South Paradise Strawberry is  4.5% ABV fruited lager that was brewed with real strawberries and designed specifically for springtime in the South.
