Dry January is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with a terrific roster of non-alcoholic beers that are crafty and  downright convincing.

Always A Good Time (Elmsford, NY) – Mikey McFerran, founder of Good Time Brewing is a seasoned bar industry veteran who is redefining non-alcoholic beer to. The idea for Good Time began in early 2020, following his son’s diagnosis with a congenital heart defect. Knowing alcohol wouldn’t have much of a place in his son’s life, McFerron began crafting NA alternatives, like this brilliant IPA.

Built on a smart menu of specially curated barley, wheat and oat malts, a well-rounded backbone that allows the hops to shine, Good Time IPA is a buzz-free “East meets West” Indian Pale Ale that, we promise you, will not disappoint.

Born In Northern California (Sausalito, CA) – With more craft breweries than ever before, brewing serious non-alcoholic beer, ACB has expanded our coverage to include new NA beers that matter. And Best Day Brewing has a new Imperial IPA that’s become so popular that the brewery is making it available all year round!

Bursting with big tropical and piney aromatics, and a full-bodied malt sweetness, Best Galaxy Ripple is a buzz-free  seasonal with layers of peach, pineapple, passion fruit, and pine flavors, and the irresistible bitterness that IPA lovers associate with the style.

And making things even better, this huge non-alcoholic Imperial IPA is only 65 calories.

Our Favorite Non-Alcoholic Stout (Dublin) – Non-Alcoholic beers have come a long way since your uncle used to order an O’Doul’s. And Guinness’ non-alcoholic take on its classic dry stout will not disappoint. Amazingly close stylistically to Guinness Draught in all aspects except buzz, Guinness 0 boasts its beautifully smooth taste, perfectly balanced flavor, unique dark color, topped off with an uber-creamy head.

To create Guinness 0 the St James’s Gate brewers, start by brewing Guinness exactly as they always have, using the same natural ingredients; water, barley, hops, and yeast; before gently removing the alcohol through a cold filtration method.

The cold filtration process allows the alcohol to be filtered out without presenting thermal stress to the beer, protecting the integrity of its taste and character. The brewers then blend and balance the flavors to ensure the distinctive flavor profile and taste characteristics of Guinness

Shiner Enters The Non-Alcoholic Arena – (Shiner, TX) – The Spoetzl Brewery has announced a brand new release that was inspired by the original Shiner Bock, the #1 craft beer in Texas.

Building on the success of Shiner’s Rode0 non-alcoholic line, which launched in 2023, Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic is a buzz-free take on the #1  Bock Beer in the US. Just as with the original, this easy-drinking, Amber Lager deftly  blends roasted barley malt, German specialty hops, and artesian well water for a crisp, refreshing finish.

“We are seeing a generational shift in how people enjoy beer,” said Nick Weiland, Brand Director at Shiner Beer. “Shiner Bock has been a legendary Texas favorite since it debuted in 1913. With Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic, long-time fans and new drinkers alike can enjoy the ritual of an ice-cold Shiner, regardless of alcohol content.”

Years Classic Pale beer canBrewed For Better Years (Chicago, IL / Milwaukee, WI) – Years is a Midwestern beer company that was founded by brewers who appreciate a good regular beer, but can do without the alcohol. They take pride in  legitimately brewing their beers in the same tradition as so many of the great Midwestern brews — top quality ingredients, great taste, no fuss. And basically no alcohol either. And their Pla Ale absolutely nails it.

Built on a bright menu of Cascade, Citra, and Centennial hops, Years Pale Ale is a non-alcoholic beer brewed in Chicago that stays true to the fundamentals. Featuring an ABV of less than 0.5%, it delivers the kind of full-bodied, hop-forward flavor that craft beer Pale Ale lovers have come to expect.
