August is ON and brewers are celebrating the dog days of summer with a roster of lagers that suit the season.
Let The Sunshine In (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has a new addition “Once-a-Year Series,” which was introduced last summer as an exclusive beer in the Summer of Sunshine variety pack.
Crafted with a deft combination of pilsner malt and flaked rice to lend a crisp, clean flavor profile to the beer, Tröegs Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager is a 4.3% ABV refresher with zesty notes of lime and just the right touch of Kosher salt.
“We brewed a Scratch batch back in the summer of 2023 and loved the results,” Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner said. “We decided to include it in our 2024 summer variety pack, after many of our fans said it was the standout beer. This is definitely the beer you want in hand while you’re vacationing at the beach!”
Light Done Right (Cincinnati, OH) – Founded in 2013, MadTree is an award-winning brewery that’s committed to crafting great beer and dedicated to doing good. MadTree a brewery that protects and celebrates nature while reducing is impact on the environment has begun canning a taproom fav to share with a wider audience.
Currently available at Madtree’s three locations and at retail stores across Ohio and Kentucky in early September, MadTree Light Lager is a 4% ABV refresher with a smooth, crisp taste at just 95 calories and 4 carbs.
“We set out to create a light beer that would bring people together without sacrificing the quality our community expects from MadTree,” said Brady Duncan, Co-Founder of MadTree. “MadTree Light Lager represents everything we stand for – connecting our community through great-tasting beer that fits any occasion.”
“Our brewhouse and taprooms continue to be the place where innovation happens,” said Brittany Frey, MadTree’s Head Brewer. “Our taprooms always include a long list of classic and new beers, and we listen to feedback. The response to MadTree Light Lager has been incredible – our guests have been part of this journey from day one, and now we’re thrilled to share it with the wider community.”
A Best “Best Day” (California) – Non-Alcoholic beers have come a long way since your uncle used to order an O’Doul’s. And there’s a Northern California brewery, Best Day Brewing, which makes a great Kölsch that just happens to be non-alcoholic.
Brewed using a smart combination of Cologne and Pilsner malts and Hallertau Traditional hops, Best Day Kölsch is a crisp and perfectly balanced refresher that comes with a nice toasty malt character but won’t leave you buzzed.
